The famous restaurant “Au Pont Saint Martin” (left) is situated in Strasbourg in the quarter ‘Petite France’, the typical Alsatian quarter, on the side of one of the River Ill’s Canal’s.
The picture was taken from the bridge just as the restaurant called “Au Pont Saint Martin”.
Petite France is a quarter of town best know for its narrow streets, picturesque canals, and medieval Alsatian half timbered houses.
The area is charming and a must see for any visitor to Strasbourg.
Strasbourg is the home to the European parliament and the famous cathedral.
Strasbourg’s historic city centre, the Grande Île (“Grand Island”), was classified a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1988, the first time such an honor was placed on an entire city centre.
