Gdansk Sand Festival, Poland
“Three thousand tons of sand are used by thirty two sculptors who take part in the Sand Sculpture Festival in the city of Gdansk.
In line with its theme ‘The Spirit of Gdansk Architecture’, the artists built sixteen large-size models of the city’s historical monuments such as St Mary’s Church and the Royal Chapel as well as life-size figures of burghers and monks. A sand-made train was erected close to the Main Railway Station.” (www.polskieradio.pl)
