Oudegracht in Utrecht, parts of wich follow the original course of the river Rhine. The oldest parts known are dating back to aprox. 1100. Although the city of Utrecht is much older, there is evidence of habitation in the early stone age, the city as we know it now dates back to Roman times. These Romans build a fortress along the river Rhine, wich was the upper north border, called Trajectum.
